Random shop pictures ~

Still don't have a name for her yet...a few suggestions from our daughter, Maddie, have been funny, but perhaps not appropriate! (She gets that from her dad!)

"Fartle McShartle" *what?? lol
"Hobo Princess" *not bad
"Hobo Gypsy" *hmmm....

Maddie has a special affinity to "hobos" as she and a few friends had a "Hobo Club" in 5th grade.  Whatevah! lol

Here's the rig sitting in front of Tyler's machine shop.  I'll post random pictures of his shop as we go along.  It's worth a look as his machines are something to behold...
It's just random coincidence that the Travco color and our shop's paint scheme match ~ maybe it's some good omen, huh?

Into the Travco we go...

Playing around with the camera...

Need a pedi...

Mattress will, of course, be replaced...
That's the table...not sure if we'll reuse, so keeping it for now.

See new curtains in our Travco's near future...cool lights tho.

Windows are in good shape.

Under the green carpet - glue? Yuck.

All that insulation is coming out.  Wasn't dressed appropriately for  fiberglass demo...ITCHY!

door

We've already told her THIS is what she'll be driving to HS in and possibly living in whilst in college...She says, "Cool!" That's my girl!

Everything has been saved, although we're not sure we'll be reusing these cupboards.

It may be old, but it still works and blows cold!

Sink is a keeper...will replace the spigot.

This radiator thing will take some figuring out...

This is the tool I bought hubby for Christmas! Apparently, it was all the rage as Lowes sold out of it very quickly.  I ordered on for Tyler, but was told he'd not get it until after the holiday.  So, he got a photo of this tool wrapped up in a box for Christmas morning. The read deal came about two days later, and he LOVES it.  Yay me!

Some nifty goodies left by the previous owners. Love the kettle!

Sadly, she doesn't work.

Filling station...

Nice.

We're keeping the 'hanging sofa' (?) piece, but all else is going.  Anyone?

Still contemplating that furnace...

Water damage?

"Demo Day 1"

We've started "demo"... what does that mean anyway? Demolish? Well, that's what we're doing.  I may need to rename our blog to "Adventures in Renovation" rather than "...Restoration" since we've demolished more than we've salvaged. Our plans are (were?) to save what we could, but once we really got into the demo, so much of what we thought we'd keep just isn't salvageable.

Bringing her home...

Buying a motor home was a "Plan B" so to speak.  What we really wanted was a sailboat, but since we didn't have sailboat funds, time, or a boat slip (!), we settled for the next best thing...and we're glad we did!

Our search began on craislist...doesn't it always? At first, the search was for anything that ran and was in our price range, but once we saw the hundreds of different options that fit our budget, narrowing our choices down became a question of aesthetics and how much restoration we were willing to tackle.  And let's be honest - we were also only willing to travel a certain distance for the right motor home. After what seemed like endless phone calls, emails, texts, and rejected offers, we finally found the perfect RV at the (arguably) right price, not TOO far away.
